Glamping in Salakos

Glamping in Salakos

Magical Bell tent under the olive trees, with super comfy bed inside…Now, Imagine an incredible star show by night and waking up with the sounds of nature and an impressive mountain view with olive and fruit trees all around. For those of you who much prefer to be outdoors, private and free, this really is a secret piece of heaven waiting for you here.

The space

Getting away from it all is exactly what you will get when you choose this experience. Your comfort has been well considered inside the tent and out, with a small kitchen, dining, relaxing area, private outdoor shower, and composting toilet. The Green Eco house sits hidden at the other end of the property grounds and can be rented simultaneously or independently.
Located on the West coast of Rhodes far from the tourist trails, and 20 mins from the airport. Explore the many mountain walks in the area in the spring & autumn when the heat is not so intense, and enjoy exploring the Ancient city of Kamiros and Kritinia castle close by too. Whilst you can easily drive in half an hour over the hills to the busier East coast beaches , the prime west coast sunsets on the beach are amazing, the kitesurfing incredible and you enjoy cooler summer breezes most afternoons.

Guest access

You need to hire a car to enjoy this experience, and there is designated parking next to the campsite.

Other things to note

After spending a week recently in the tent during July, the key things to know are :

The temperature from 6pm- 11am on-site is perfect. I was able to sleep at a comfortable temperature in the tent until 10.30am one morning ! The bell tent is positioned very successfully under a tree which protects it from the morning sun. The night temperature in the tent ranged from 18-25 degrees which meant some nights I needed a light weight duvet, or blanket or just a sheet. It felt cool and comfortable, and very pleasurable to be outside in fresher temperatures than you experience within houses at this time of the year.

The dining table area gives shade most of the day, so if you really feel like hanging at the tent you can do, but we would recommend heading to the coast or into the mountains during your days.

This is a perfect naturist spot for those who wish for a little private liberation.

Testimonials

“Petros’ house is typical of where you need to be on an island like Rhodes. Far from the hordes of tourists, but relatively close to everything (12 ‘from a very beautiful beach, 5’ from local restaurants and mini-market, a little more of all the places to see), in a very calm, green setting, typical of the island. The house is very pretty, very welcoming, very clean and allows wonderful meals on the shaded terrace, unforgettable bbqs, all in a countryside that is not infested by mosquitoes. Petros is an attentive, available and discreet host and brings together in one person all the qualities of his origins (Greek and Swedish). With the added bonus of perfect English. A simply exceptional rental.”

“We had a wonderful stay with Petros and his Green House. The house was spacious and very well equipped for the 3 of us. The solar hot water and electricity worked incredibly well. The two patios were wonderful. The lower one was good for breakfast and the upper one was perfect for looking at stars at night. The off-the-grid location next to an olive grove made it incredibly relaxing and peaceful. Petros was a wonderful host with a great attitude towards life. The location near the village of Salakos was also really great. We had the best meal of our trip in a small taverna in the village square underneath a huge tree. Watching village life while enjoying our dinner was also a highlight.”
